Idea development. (early starboard)

Today we met up as group to further develop our idea of Barnaby the Rabbit. We had a quite a bit to discus before Thursday lesson where we had to pitch our idea and present storyboards. Paul had already start to put together rough storyboards.

Although very rough the storyboards started to bring the idea to life. The made a couple of changes to the storyboard a decided to make the dinner scene into another sequence shot. I wanted quite an adventurous Sequence shot like  in Gus Van Sant Elephant.  Where the camera follows one of the characters as they move through an area.

After our Grindaleford recce we knew how difficult it was going to film that shot without a steadycam. We where still going to try but thought we should have a back up plan just in case this shot didn’t work. We also added a lighting change in the dinner scene, as the women walks into the room we would use strobe lighting to make the scene a little abstract and intense as the bunny rabbit flips out. As well as having the simple “light switch” lighting change,  the strobe lighting would be quite a nice effect and fits into that abstract film we are trying to create.
